Joel is a typical 3 year old, cheeky, loveable and enjoying life blissfully unaware for now of the tough times ahead.
In 2014 just before his 3rd birthday Joel was diagnosed with Duchene’s muscular dystrophy.
Words cannot describe how devastated Joel’s family is that Joel has this incurable/ terminal disease.
The only hope for Joel and the hundreds of boys that have Duchene’s is that researchers have a breakthrough in time.
Joel will now follow a predetermined path, his muscles in his legs will waste first and he will need a wheel chair by adolescence and then other muscles will waste thereafter.
Eventually his heart and lungs will fail and we will lose our Joel cutting his life way to short.
Our first goal and priority is to make Joel’s life as easy and as Independent as possible, mission extension for a ground floor bedroom and wet room.
Players included ex professionals Richard Horne, Lee Radford and John Okul.
Natalie Fitzgerald also organised a Ladies day to help support the appeal and the adaptions for Joel’s house extension.
